Research in OCEAN A|E is located at the intersection of architecture, landscape architecture and urban design, along an inter- and transdisciplinary trajectory. Focus is placed on architecture and environment integration, complex sustainability problems, and computational data-integrated design methods.
Michael U. Hensel and Defne Sunguroğlu Hensel are currently involved in the H2020 FET research project Ecolopes (grant agreement number 964414).
In master-level teaching we foreground experimental design and a research-by-design based approach along an interdisciplinary trajectory. This involves data-integrated computational design geared towards tackling complex environmental aspects and related sustainability problems.
